No prior first aid knowledge is required to be a participate, however, participants must be at least 16 years of age and physically capable of maneuvering other participants acting as patients. *Your registration is considered as 'pending' until payment is completed by you or your company. This is for individuals with first aid certification not from WorkSafeBC (i.e. Red Cross or St. John's Ambulance) but who need to use their certification in their workplace.
Upon completion, a WorkSafeBC 'Out-of-Jurisdiction' certificate is issued.
- Must be 16 years of age to become certified.
- Must be physically and mentally capable to perform duties.
- Fees include course textbook and one pocket mask per student.
- Companies should refer to WorkSafeBC OHS Guidelines G#17 to determine the level of first aid for your business. Schedule 3-A for the minimum level of first aid.

The Red Cross is dedicated to keeping their courses available for all who wish to gain the knowledge of how to help another; these courses do not have a certain pre-requisite, however, some courses do require the participate to be physical so please be aware of your body's strengths and abilities.
This eight (8) hour course will teach you the basics of first aid including the emergency action principles, airway emergencies, CPR (adult-only or adult, child and infant), use of an AED (defibrillator), and sudden medical conditions.
This eight (8) hour course teaches you the basics of first aid including the emergency action principles, airway emergencies, single person CPR (Adult, Child, and infant), child-specific medical emergencies, and soft tissue injuries with splinting.
This six (6) hour course teaches you the basics of responding to an emergency, airway and breathing management, and CPR with AED for adult, child, and infant.
